food spread
I've been meaning to try this place out for well over a year, but because it's not on the way to anything, you really have to go out of your way to visit this place (well for most people who don't study/work in that area anyway). All I really wanted here were the red velvet pancakes. Catch ups over lunch are the best. Thanks Bitter for the bday shout!
Rainbow crepe cake-$8
Got this because #aesthetics. No not really, wanted to try it as well. It's quite artificially coloured, but at least the colours are nice and bright. It's not a normal crepe cake with cream in between the layers, like the infamous Lady M crepe cake which still remains my fav. The NYC branch still remains my fav (SG or HK just doesn't make it as nice). I only had a bite of this since I was super full towards the end, but this one is surprisingly not really sweet, and since there wasn't any cream in between, tasted healthier. Probably would be too sweet if you add in the white choc sauce though...
Taro latte (large)-$5, coconut latte (regular)-$4
I had the coconut latte and it had nice bits of coconut flakes in it. It was a bit too sweet near the end since you could see/taste the coconut syrup. The taro latte was also on the sweeter side.
Red velvet pancakes w/ strawberries and cream-$15.50
mid drip
I've been wanting to try this for over a year, mainly because it of the presentation. The actually pancakes are more dense but not too sweet. The sweetness mainly comes from the white choc sauce which was a bit too sweet. Loved the fresh strawberries to give it some acidity and the cream to help make it not too dry.
Matcha wheat berry (signature): green matcha, coconut milk, wheat berry, poached pear, toasted coconut, macadamia crumble-$17
edible flowers!
Generous serving and quite fancy for a granola. Wheat berry was interesting, reminded me between a cross of buckwheat and oats. The pear was poached well, and overall the dish wasn't that sweet with some texture from the crumble. Wished there was more matcha flavour in this. Loved the different edible flowers which just helped make the dish fill with colour. Well I love edible flowers in general so I couldn't not like their plating.
Buffalo mozzarella stack w/ sun-dried tomato, spinach basil pesto, brioche wafer, poached eggs-$17.50
#yolkporn
Wanted to try a savoury dish and something light, so the waiter suggested this. There are decent pieces of buffalo mozzarella, and quite a bit of the pesto in some sort of grains. It was a tad bit too oily in the end. I loved the crunchiness of the brioche wafers, wish there was more to soak up all the egg yolk, pesto and vinaigrette.
food for 2, here's to over-ordering
