Frango's

Good catch up with some high school friends in a place near where we all live. I've never been to this part of Bella Vista before. I originally thought it was in Norwest, then thought it was near Bella Vista Hotel/Woolies HQ, but it's actually even further in than that. It's literally a hole and there isn't any one, except everyone you did see was going to Frango's.

Got there at around 8pm and it was still fully packed. A friend got there earlier to get a table luckily. The 2 lines for takeaway was never ending, until they ran out of burgers at 8:15pm and chicken at 8:40pm. They close at 9pm, and that's normally usually early, but they don't need tot rate for so long, since Monday night and it's just packed, and I bet it's pretty much like this during lunch time as well. They run out of stock before they even close...

Beef Portuguese Skewers $28

Most of the skewers were cooked medium, I got a piece which was a bit over, so hence a bit tough, but the other ones were so juicy and tender. It was interesting that the whole thing came on a massive skewer, and they gave tongs and an extra plate to get your pieces of beef.

Whole Chicken-$19

This chicken is on point. Sooo delicious, easily see why they sell out of their chicken. Spices aren't too overpowering, and well seasoned.

Large Caeser Salad-$17.50

Bit disappointed with the price and the serving size. Didn't have enough lettuce ):

Original chicken burger-$9, w/ side of chips-$3.50

They ran out of buns so had turkish bread, which made it more awkward to share. It tasted drier with this bread, a moist brioche bun would have made this burger better, so this substitute made it below average ): Chips were alright, and plenty of mayo and their own homemade (sweet) chilli sauce to dip them in. Chicken breast was also a tad bit drier. Definitely need to come back for that charcoal chicken again.

  1. That chicken looks pretty amazing. I wonder if it's like EJ's?
