Pop up burger store by #burgers, a 'tribute' to In and Out (which is on my to eat list when I go to the West Coast sometime...). They are temporarily in the Sir John Young hotel.
Arrived just after 12pm and there was around 10 people queuing already, but food took around 10-15min which is reasonable. I've heard some people had to wait around an hour if they go there at 1pm.
Standard burger (single)-$10
Didn't bother with the 'tiger' style burger with cooked onions, more sauce and a more flavoursome patty. Raw onions here were probably a bit too overpowering. The meat was slightly pink (would have preferred more pink). The bread was really soft but also didn't squish too easily.
Fries-$3, tiger style-+$2
I think the extra $2 to change the style of the fries was really worth it. The fries themselves have the potato skin fried on, giving some parts a nice crunchy. The thousand island style sauce really boosted the flavour of the chips, with additional bits of bacon and cheese.
Not a bad pop up, but still need to try the real thing in America.
Potato skin is a really great touch to fries!! Would definitely pay the extra for it.
