The Tuckshop

Living in the Hills there aren’t many places to eat, but finally had time to go to the Tuckshop even though it’s only a 10min drive from my house.

The chicken looked really brown, but wow, it was deep fried perfectly. The chicken was super moist inside it and the skin was seasoned perfectly. It wasn’t oily and still crispy even after taking it home.  Sauce was creamy with a good bit of spice. Just after I ordered it, they said they ran out of their Southern chicken, I definitely see why it’s such a popular option (despite how unhealthy it is…)

The Cheesy burger beef seemed a but over cooked/not pink compared to other places hence not as juicy, kind of like a fancy Macca’s cheeseburger. There was a good hit of mustard and ketchup, and the bun was really soft.

The main disappointment were the chips. Weren’t deep fried properly, and they were soggy with oil, similar to Char Char Food Truck. However, these were flavoured with some herbs and other seasoning. If they weren't soaked in oil, they would have been pretty good french fries.
The salads looked interesting but after a burger and chips, it was surprisingly filling, so I guess there’s always a next time.

  1. Haha the chips look like an in-between of McDonalds and KFC fries.

But wow, that chicken burger looks delicious!
