Birthdays are a really good excuse to try new cakes.

We shared this cake between 7 people, and even then it was enough. It's quite a dense cake, and I guess the advantage of this one it won't really melt. You can taste the acidity from the lemon and the sweetness from the white choc. Would have liked more pistachio flavour. The almond dacquoise was a bit on the sweet side, but you get the curd to help balance it. It's a nice cake to try, just make sure you share it with more people than it suggests. Super filling cake. Loved the additional of edible flowers on top.
only on weekdays things don't sell out one hour before closing
Raspberry lychee cake (serves 12)-$84
Bright, fun and nostalgic. Built upon a rich chocolate biscuit foundation, the layers of raspberry marshmallow and vanilla cream create a delicious balance of texture and flavour, while the topping of lychees and raspberries brings a sweet, succulent freshness.
22 raspberries for turning 22! (what a cool coincidence. Dandelion, I hope you're not reading into these prices lel 😅)
This cake is nice but not as light or as good as their iconic strawberry watermelon cake. Love the big, plump raspberries adding some acidity to the sweet lychees. Too bad they're canned lychees, but at least they were big as well. The marshmallows inside the vanilla cream weren't too sweet. I think the base which reminded me of a brownie was quite dense, rich and sweet. It was quite thick here compared to the individual portions. This cake was so heavy though, I would estimate around 3kg, so you can have an idea how dense that bottom is...Well after walking with it for 10mins, my arm started hurting lol. So I guess value for money if you calculate by weight...?
Gifted again by relatives relative (: I love surprises when coming home from work. Thanks for being so thoughtful and knowing my love of desserts.
If you haven't tried to Strawberry Watermelon cake yet, well go try it. It still remains their signature cake and their best. Even if portion sizes have reduced and the cake isn't as tall to cut down on ingredients/cost, the flavour still hasn't changed.
The one out of this I haven't tried is the Amedei Chocolate Tort: Not for the faint hearted, this one is one of the richest chocolate cakes in our range. Made with the boldest chocolate from Tuscan artisanal chocolatiers, Amedei, this cake consists of four layers of hazelnut dacquoise, gianduja ganache and Amedei Toscano 66% chocolate mousse, finished with ganache made from Amedei Chuao.
It indeed was very rich, but not overly sweet like it looks since 66% is almost dark choc. I think dark choc needs to be at least 75% to be considered dark imo. For me, as a non chocolate lover, I like 90% dark choc. However, even one portion should be shared between too people since the chocolate mousse is quite thick and the cake is quite dense overall.
