it was as expected. normally the exert an immense control over their products, but this time, people leaked more photos.
usually i'm super excited about a new iphone, but this time, i'm a tad bit disappointed.
so iphone 4,4s and 5 rrp price have been $800 au, but this time 5s is 870, while 5c is $730. that is not cheap at all for a plastic body and an a6 chip (which is what 5 uses). to me, "cheap" is less than 500 for rrp release price. a plastic body reminds me of my iphone 3g. 5c has the exact same specs as iphone 5, so why not buy an iphone 5? because they don't sell 5's anymore, only 4s, 5s, and 5c. if i didn't have a 5, i would have defs spend an extra 130 bucks to get a 5s. when you go onto their website, you see the 5c before 5s. i guess they would make heaps more money out of the 5c, since the materials used is cheaper, and it's got the same specs as 5, but you're paying $60 less, compared to 800rrp iphone 5, for a cheaper body.
the us has a trade in program, where you pay a tad bit of cash and your 5 for a 5s. in aus we don't have it, but i have to agree with the newspapers, there's actually no difference between the 5 and 5s. only major difference is fingerprint scanning. i thought they would upgrade the camera, since every "s" generation has been upgraded. they've only aded slow mo and burst, but there are apps which can do that. 5s has "true tone" flash, but the iphone camera is naturally good enough, and i haven't taken a photo with flash on before even in dim lighting since there's no need, so "true tone" flash isn't super useful. the 5c has the same camera features as 5. then again, 8mp is good enough, since i've only had my phone for about 9 months, and i've already used 3.5gb in photos and videos.
iOS7 comes out next week! so for current 5 users, we already have a 5s minus fingerprint scanning. 5 users can use the air drop feature, but 4s users won't have that feature, but everything else. but the radio thing won't be available in aus ): i don't know, iOS7 is super different. all the logos have been de-sophisticated. i guess the camera will have more options, but i hardly use filters. even in instagram, only like half my photos so far have filters.
i guess i bought my phone on a good year, where there was a big change, but the price remained the same. from 4s to 5, even though the camera's the same (well there's added feature of panorama), the actual body itself was a massive difference. the physical appearances for electronics for me is a massive factor for my. from 5 to 5s, they make you pay an extra $70 for fingerprint scanning. they say it's faster, but ofc every iphone has to be faster than the previous one. even though they increase the battery life, i think it would be the same as 5, since logically, scanning a finger will use a tad bit more battery life every time you unlock it. and there's not as much "wow"factor for 5s. siri was a massive wow factor for 4s, despite the body was the same as 4. i don't think many 5 users would change to 5s.
also the gold colour, personally i think gold is for more "older ladies". there's no black anymore, it's called grey, and white is called silver. and i think the ipod touch is better than 5c, since it's made of aluminium, and the shade of colours are nicer.
i'm actually more excited about the new OS X! i'm still on snow leopard, which is from 2009. i bought my laptop in early 2011, but lion didn't come out until mid 2011. then mountain lion came out in mid 2012, but i still haven't upgraded. so i guess i'll wait for Mavericks. i need to upgrade because i still don't have iCloud on my laptop. yep, i bought my mac before they introduced iCloud (and before everyone suddenly bought a mac for uni. but yeah, if you're thinking of getting a newcomputer-buy a Mac! or actually, wait and see what the new MacPro is like).
sorry for a disjointed post. it's just my thoughts all in one (:

dayuum, that chem mc test was tricky AND hard, well harder than the sample test/tutorials/lecture stuff/textbook level.
guessed wayyy too much. ok, on the positive side, it's only worth 7%, but stillll, i want chem to pull me up. argh, can't believe i put "can't be determined" for a question. and even all the smart chem people, who put in "pop quizzes" on the fb page, which is super nice and considerate of them and their time, they all have diff answers, like "should there be a negative sign!?" let's just hope over 50%.
got to uni at 8.15 today. it actually feels good to arrive early, but my sleeep =/
mum came back yday with so much food and samples (: can't wait till tomorrow.
last week my brother was sick. i managed to not see him for 42hours even though we live under the same roof.
also had spontaneous froyo last week, with my free three oz voucher from yogurtland.

random flavours, flavours i didn't have last time were pecans and praline and chocolate milkshake, white choc macadamia.
tbh, these flavours all together were quite sweet/kind of tasted the same, even though i got some sorbet, the acidity wasn't as strong as i remembered. also this time it melted faster/felt softer in your mouth. yogurt world still wins on consistency and everything else apart form price.
the person there was really nice, i asked her how much 3oz was, and i got $1.45 the first time, then added more in, then it turned out to be $1.75 so i paid 10c. 3oz is not much froyo. the guy before me paid for his froyo, then saw the choc/caramel sauce and added heaps onto it, and the person didn't charge him...
soo screwed for next week, but i do love my food (:
feels like summer already ))):

Law Revue 2013
i wasn't planning on going at all, but there was a spare ticket, and everyone was going, so i decided to go, despite continuous exams in the coming weeks.
so glad i went! i knew it would be funny, BUT IT WAS HILARIOUS!!! i was surprised i got most of the jokes (usually i'm super slow). and with the election coming up, so many references. the dancing, singing, skits, music were all sooo good! i guess it's nice to see friends up there. saw 2 friends, well not super close friends, and surprised that they danced and sing and acted! also saw two baulko-ers, one ex-school captain and another guy from my grade. i guess you don't have to do law to be in the law revue. also, apparently they didn't do it the night before, but...was scarred from tonight night. story is, they were talking about snap chat, and then this guy just undid his robe, and yeah...quickly turned around. was sitting in the front row, but luckily that guy was on one side of the stage, and then 10 other guys just ran across the stage, fully undressed...i was expecting crude humour but not crude actions...but apart from that it was worth my time (((:
i would love to be in a revue! i just can't sing...but it seems like so much fun! then again, you can telll how much effort they put into it. 6 night a week at uni, each night over 4 hours, for about 3 months. especially during performance week, where you'll definitely get home after 1am, and then uni the next day. like you legit don't even have the energy to study, let alone energy to turn up to tutes/labs (i think they would all skip their lectures). then there are also the hours spent trying to promote it. how do they have the time? then again, law students have close to no contact hours. i mean for me, this week i have about 8 hours of dance (including the drive to cabra and further), so it's already hard for me to fit in study.
i've decided that if i fail a subject, i would make the most of my uni life: participate in a revue, join volunteering things which have meetings that don't clash with my timetable, actively participate in over 2 societies, find a job and work a lot. on the other hand, i also don't want to waste money and fail.
before, we went to Time for Thai down the road from uni for dinner. so packed, but they had more seating than i thought.
beef pad thai-$12
the last few times i had chicken pad thai, so decided to go for beef. i was disappointed in the serving size: it looked small, and i wasn't fully filled from it. they used bigger sized tofu so it's even less of a serving than it looks. not enough of each ingredient, and the sauce wasn't flavourful enough. i also like the texture of crushed nuts, but there were hardly any. i think this was smaller than Chat Thai. i still think The Seat in Penno is the most worth it, so flavoursome/not over oily/good portions.
fully ran from st james to qvb in less than 3min. i don't usually run fast, but if it's a bus, and the next bus is half an hour late, and after 11pm, well i legged it. so glad we made it, or else would've gotten home at 12.30am. managed to get home before 12, so i guess sleeping time wise, it's ok.
thursdays are good if i go to these type of stuff, since i finish at 6, and the next day i start at 12.

new record today! got up, dressed, ate breakfast etc and out of the house in 7min! i slept in late, and was going to miss the last late fast bus, if that makes sense...
i did one of those questionnaires to see if i'm more suited to liberal or labour. the result? 50/50. i want stuff from both sides of the party, and nothing from the greens. who to vote for? my parents don't care if i vote different to them. and also, what's palmer's united. it seems so weird. but yeah, both parties have their own pros and cons, problem is that i'm not favoured towards a side.
so crazy, going to get home around midnight tomorrow, and i have an exam on tuesday, then i sunday i have to trek past cabra for dance. it's such a hole there! well the place next to cabra which we'll be going. what's even more crazy is that fine food exhibition is next week! freeeee food/samples! what i'm so sad is that i forgot to register my mum, and now the pre-rego has closed and entry is $30, which is not worth it. so i guys i'll be roaming around by myself this year. this time on the ticket they said absolutely no high school students, even if they're studying a food related subject, and tertiary students "need to be mindful of businesses and samples" so they don't want uni students to take too many free samples. what a joke, i'm going to bring a back pack. one year my mum brought 3 back packs. also on that wed, mamak is opening, and free food, but then the lines will be super long, and probs not really worth my time compared to getting "fine food" free food.
another crazy thing, i want to go $2 sushi train, but i don't know anyone who's willing/have time,. and i also have exams in the next few consecutive weeks, so i don't have time/don't know what time to go, but i really want cheap but good quality sushi train! anyone up for it...? the main problem is that they only allow it for dinner time....i will wake up early on the weekend to make up for lost time...
colour run pre-rego have started for feb next year. i still don't understand how people take photos/take their belonging and run 5km without getting their phones/wallets dirty. i don't mind getting myself/clothes dirty, but not other stuff like bags =/ need to think of the logistics behind how to keep those items clean...
i had the best fish finger today!! Jamie Oliver style. the bread crumbs are golden, not orange, and since it's not half breadcrumbs, there's actually real fish! and it's good quiality-melt-in-your-mouth not processed fish! a fillet in that fish finger! it did taste so much healthier than other frozen fish. it was sturdy when you picked it up, which shows how soft the fish is and how it melted nicely in your mouth (: also, i would like to go Jamie's Italian, even though it hasn't won awards, it's an international restaurant, for it's decently priced for a celebrity chef.

Eyeball Macaron
i had the coolest homemade macaron today!
$2.50, but it's for charity
obviously not perfect.
there wasn't really any initial crunch, and the macaron felt a bit "old" ie not fresh, but hey, it looks pretty cool. it reminded my of donna hay's vanilla macaron packet ix with chocolate ganache.
there' only 35 "eyeball" tickets for my cohort (150+ people), and it was the first 35 to fill in the form at 9pm. i had dance, so i couldn't fill out the form, so i can't gp, but then no one i know is going, so even if i was one of the first 35, it would be kinda lonely. it's a 3 course meal, but at $90, i'd rahter save that money for somewhere else. it's at Ivy, and i really want to go to Ivy, but there's always opportunities to go there to hang out, if i really have nothing to do.
looked into people's eyes today. the only time i want a lab to be longer, then again, i have 5 years of practice into looking, so i can't complain.
freaking out now. every week is some written thing or exam.

Masterchef 2013
the plight of the bees is the new snow egg.
just not as spectacular.
too bad it's in melbourne. at least it's more affordable. one day, i shall go to a three star michelin restaurant. 1.there's none in aus 2. even if there was, a high class three course meal is a tad cheaper overseas (unless the aussie dollar drops dramatically by the time i can afford to feed myself).
i found that this season of MC, there's less celebrity chefs. there used to be one each week for immunity challenges, but this season there's hardly any, like Matt Moran didn't even show up. guess they saved up that money for Dubai. i feel that this season the cooks are good, but not as good as previous seasons, idk, can't really talk since i can't cook properly.
it's always the first person they announce for the last set of scores who loses. didn't really like emma, since she got an immunity pin, so imo, she didn't fully legit win.
i've been eating all day =/ had the green tea gunpowder lipton tea today, it's quite a nice green tea with some oddly nice smokiness. had some home made ice mooncakes (: also, i love sara lee's hazelnut choc fudge ice cream. the fudge and the nuts are nicely balanced (: actually, i love most flavours of sara lee's, in terms of supermarket ice cream, i think i like their's better than connoisseur. didn't go out for dinner today, but then again, we don't even go out if it's someone's bday.
argh, i'm so annoyed. those accidental typos/decimal places/sig figs which always trip me up in physics pre labs. it's not hard, just why did they make the easy stuff worth more marks so then i get a pretty bad score. need those extra marks in phys, since finals will be super hard.
ok, i got no study done, ahhh, exams coming, gotta pick my game up now that masterchef is over

i couldn't do anything properly yesterday. even at night, i thought i could still smell ammonia. dealt with 15M NH3 yday, probably to high concentrated thing i will ever deal with in my life.
last day of winter, nooo. i had a berry fruit lipton pyramid tea. it's ok, but kind of cheap. it says to put 200ml of water, less than your standard latte glass/cup. last time i had over 250ml, so it was kind of tastless. this time i had about 200ml, so the flavour was there, but i don't feel like i got my money's worth out of the tea bag. if i did put more water in, then it won't taste as good. had a piece of toast with butter, peanut butter and jam. twas so good! probs because i haven't had peanut butter and jelly for so long (: only have time to drink tea on weekends. as if i have the time to wait for the water to boil and the tea to infuse during the weekday. i can get dressed/ready and eat a breakfast in 15min before leaving the house (:
really impressed with MAC lipstick. sah good (: good make-up/brushes are also worth investing in. some people just have absolutely perfect make-up each time, then again, they already have flawless skin to begin with. i cannot find any youtube vids on how to use a quiff comb! i know you just stick it in, but how!? also sucks sometimes how my hair is so thin, it's hard to make it "poof"
eisteddfod today-so many troupes. the judges were like "the scores are going to be low as we are comparing you to worldwide dance troupes" and "you need to do blahblahblah, or else you will not have a career in dance" calm your farm, haha, i bet 90% of the people there won't do dance as a full time international career.
